ASTRO is a multiple award Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract geared towards the needs of the Department of Defense and the U.S. military with a scope focused on ISR and unmanned systems.
The multiple pools that comprise the ASTRO contract:
- Span many areas of expertise and mission spaces;
- Span multiple professional service disciplines;
- Allow flexibility for all contract types, including hybrids and cost-reimbursement, at the task order level; and
- Allow ancillary support components, commonly referred to as Other Direct Costs (ODC), at the task order level.
- Focus on large, best-value tradeoff acquisitions (typically >$100M)
- Focus on operations and maintenance of robotics and unmanned systems, as well as ISR
- Encompass the majority of the armed services' technical requirements

Pool 1:Data Operations: Performance of Data Operations including all data collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination activities associated with manned, unmanned, and optionally manned platforms and robotics supporting mission performance.
